We are seeking a talented individual to join the team that monitors the infrastructure and networks that enable the enterprise security fusion center operations. This is a high-functioning team that works behind the scenes to enable our observability and monitoring operations. This is a multifaceted operation employing layers of observability technology that monitors the availability and integrity of our networking, storage, cloud infrastructure, and servers. The ideal candidate brings well-rounded observability experience, a wide variety of technical expertise, and pride in knowing that their hard work keeps so much up and running.

This position can be based to work out of any Jack Henry office or remotely from any US location. Salary range for this position is $84-125k, depending on candidate experience and geographic location.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Designs and architects IT infrastructure solutions for incidents and problems.

  • Managing the uptime of networks, such as LAN, WAN, Internet and/or data networks.

  • Proposes and implements system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.

  • Performs advanced troubleshooting of customer and internally-reported system problems.

  • Writes system procedures, policies, and guidelines.

  • Participates in on-call 24x7 support rotation.

  • Manages and performs essential functions required for effective system backup and restore testing.

  • Manages and performs periodic recovery testing of DR plans.

  • May assist support groups with applications installed on various servers.

  • Evaluates and recommends technology solutions for potential purchase to effect enhancements and efficiencies.

  • Performs limited staff supervision of technical objectives.

  • Assists less experienced peers.

  • May perform other job duties as assigned.

    What you’ll need to have:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in enterprise network observability, systems engineering, or infrastructure operations.

  • Experience with Azure and/or GCP.

  • Experience with Windows Servers and Storage technologies.

  • Experience with packet capture and analysis (e.g. TCPDump, PCAPS, pcaps, Wireshark, Procmon).

  • Experience with Cisco and/or Palo Alto networking, including a firm grasp of dynamic routing protocols and firewalls/network security.

  • Experience with incident analysis using ticketing or incident response systems (e.g. ServiceNow, Splunk).

  • Availability to serve in an on-call rotation.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% to attend training, meetings, and conferences.

    What would be nice for you to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • UNIX/Linux experience.

  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools like Datadog and Grafana with Service Now, Logs using Splunk and Google stack, performance and real user monitoring with AppDynamics, Thousand Eyes, and expertise in emergency response, alerting, chat, and notification systems including SMTP, Teams, or PagerDuty.

  • Relevant certifications in networking, systems, and/or cloud administration.
