Responsibilities Duties described below are at the full performance GS-11 grade level. Responsible for completing lands/realty casework; makes defensible recommendations on a variety of lands/realty actions including rights-of-ways, communication sites, land acquisitions and disposals, Recreation, and Public Purposes actions. Prepares environmental documents on all types and complexities of realty casework. Participates as an interdisciplinary team member in the preparation of other resource program activity plans. Interacts with the public, State and county agencies and others regarding realty matters on public lands. Provides expert advice and responds to inquiries regarding laws, regulations, agency policies involving the lands and realty program. Prepare, collect, evaluate, and consolidate land use data. Prepares, monitors, and updates planning documents. No assumptions will be made about your experience. For GS-09: - One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to a GS-07 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as experience applying realty principles, regulations, practices, and/or techniques to acquire necessary lands easement and rights of way of a project for commercial, industrial, riparian, residential, agricultural, or various properties; OR - Have a master`s or equivalent graduate degree; OR - Completed two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR - Have a combination of education and experience described above. I have described this information in my resume. For GS-11: - One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-09 in Federal Service. Specialized experience is further defined as experience providing technical coordination of real estate activities with clients, sponsors, and team members; develop project budgets, milestones, timelines, cooperative agreements, and other planning reports; apply real estate principles, regulations, practices, and techniques to acquire necessary lands easement and rights of way of a project for commercial, industrial, riparian, residential, agricultural, and/or various properties; OR - Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. I will provide a copy of my college transcripts; OR - Completed three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.; OR - Have a combination of education and experience described above. NOTE: Real estate work experience in the private sector is not considered qualified unless the experience demonstrates specific relationship to public land issues. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Demands: The work is split between sedentary and physical. Because the employee may lead or often conduct on-site examinations, there is some walking, standing, bending, and requiring normal physical exertion. Onsite visits require physical ability to traverse remote rough country by cross country vehicle or by foot, sometimes in extreme climatic conditions to conduct field inspections. The field duties of this position require that the employee operate four-wheel drive vehicles on and off roads in isolated areas. Work Environment: The environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. The work environment varies from an office setting to working outside in isolated areas under adverse weather conditions. The employee usually works alone while in the field. Temperatures in the field vary from minus 10 degrees Fahrenheit to 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Work in the office will generally be at a desk. The employee will adhere to all safety rules and regulations as prescribed in manuals/supplements or by the designated Safety Officer. Education This position falls under the Realty Series, 1170, Administrative and Management Positions. There are no Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for this job series. This position allows for education to be substituted for specialized experience (see qualification section for education requirements).
