Essential Functions* of the position are detailed below and include any physical requirements checked below:1. Primarily responsible for handling all client inquiry requests for counseling services for the Loving Outreach to Survivors of Suicide (LOSS) program. Conducti initial assessments of appropriateness for services provided by the program and along with the Department Director makes a timely assignment to a LOSS clinician.2. Effectively engages children, youth, adults and families experiencing behavioral health issues and psychosocial stressors in the therapeutic process as it relates to the death of a loved one from suicide. Completes mental health assessments as appropriate utilizing a systems framework and trauma informed approach among other modalities. Demonstrates a high level of competence and expertise in providing clinical counseling services; providing a variety of different clinical activities/approaches to meet the client's individual needs. Provides group therapy. May lead support groups, conduct psychosocial educational groups, provide presentations to community group or consultations to schools and secondary settings. Clients are seen at an agency site, in their home or at a community site.3. Works independently and consistently exercises discretion and sound judgment in providing comprehensive and in-depth continuous assessment of the individual's ability to cope with the death of their loved one. Provides for planned, thoughtful termination of service, taking into account the preferences, needs and abilities of the client. Informs clients of how to access services if they are experiencing a crisis and the agency is not open; responds to clients messages in a timely manner..4. Demonstrates ability to function autonomously and manage workload with minimal administrative supervision. Directly notifies supervisor/director in crisis situations providing appropriate intervention according to professional and agency standards. Demonstrates ability to conceptualize advanced therapeutic treatment models and utilize these on clients' behalf through the course of treatment.5. Plans and organizes work schedule to meet clinical and consultation responsibilities. Responsible for thorough, timely and accurately written documentation for the client file. Consults with collateral contacts as needed and ensures confidentiality of client information in accordance with all applicable laws. . Records all necessary information in the prescribed data systems. Completes statistical information in a timely manner for agency and funder purposes as required. Prepares overall program reports. Participates in the performance quality improvement process for the program.6. Advocates on behalf of clients in order to ensure access to services for which the client is eligible.7. Attends quarterly staff clinicians meetings to stay informed of administrative program changes, agency communications and opportunities for staff training.8. May collect fees and insurance billing information for client services; ensuring information is recorded properly. and Follows the corresponding regulations of such for collections of co-pays, deductible and subsidized fees. Ensures appropriate insurance documents are verified and information is submitted according to program protocol and agency policy.9. Edits and publishes the monthly LOSS program newsletter. Provides outreach in order to build awareness of the LOSS program. PLEASE NOTE:* Essential functions include all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Kneel and move from sitting, bending, kneeling or standing multiple times a day. Push and pull objects up to pounds.X Climb up and down up to 4 flights of stairs at a time.X Lift up to 10 pounds. Technology skills for data entry Relevant Experience:Preferred: 2-4 yearsMinimum: 1-2 years Certification/Licensure:Preferred: Clinical licensure Minimum: Clinical supervision hours accumulated toward clinical licensure.
