What we want

The Program Coordinator II, under general supervision, works collaboratively with leadership to plan, develop, organize, direct, and manage day-to-day activities for the Center for Health & Nature.

What you need to know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s experience.

Other Requirements or Other Factors: This is a fully remote position that should be located in the greater Houston area. Incumbent must be able to attend several in person meeting monthly in Houston and be able to travel to College Station to meet with Center Leadership at least quarterly. Other travel around the state of Texas is also required.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Four years of Public Health experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications

  • Verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MPH or Master’s in a closely related field

  • Experience working in Health & Nature

  • Experiencing working with non-profits, academia and healthcare; some experience in project management

  • MS Office Suite, On-line collaboration tools, Health behavior particularly around nature

    Responsibilities:

Develop/Manage Program

  • Provides program direction and partnership support to the Center for Health & Nature.

  • Works with Center partners including Houston Methodist and Texan by Nature.

  • Develops and maintains new partnerships

  • Coordinates center communications

  • Represents the Center in meetings

  • Compiles the annual report and other center publications

  • Maintains and updates the website.

Planning

  • Assists in establishing short and long term goals and strategic planning.

  • Collaborates with others to create new and expanded programs.

  • Oversees daily fiscal and purchasing activities, and assists in preparation and monitoring of budgets for programs and events.

  • Plans, implements and evaluates programs.

  • Assists in establishing goals, objectives, policies and procedures.

  • Performs other duties
