What we want

The Texas A&M School of Nursing is looking for a Program Coordinator to serve as a member of the Forensic Nursing team. You will serve as a member of the Texas A&M Forensic Nursing Tex-TRAC Program to assist leadership with operations for individuals who experience trauma, crime, and violence.

What you need to know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s experience.

Please note: This position is grant funded; future employment may be contingent upon future funding.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Four years of experience in program coordination or other related areas

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others

  • Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills

  • Able to provide and receive confidential information while maintaining a high level of confidentiality

  • Understand and deliver excellent customer service

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid Texas driver’s license

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health or health-related degree

  • Master’s degree in public health or health-related degree

  • Collaborating with multiple agencies

  • Scheduling meetings, appointments, etc.

  • Collecting data, generating reports, setting agendas, and taking meeting minutes

  • Working with individuals who experience trauma, crime, and violence

  • Scheduling patient appointments

  • Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish

    Responsibilities:

Program Coordination and Communication

  • Coordinates scheduling of TeleSANE trainings, develops and updates training materials and delivers training, reserves training area and simulation rooms.

  • Provides verbal and/or written communication to partnered agencies and hospitals.

  • Compiles data and prepares reports on Tex-TRAC and TAMU ACTS Clinic activities.

  • Prepares agendas, takes meeting notes, follow-up on outstanding action items, schedule meetings.

  • Works with Agency Collaborators and Hospitals to ensure equipment is ready for deployment on time.

  • Works with TCAT and the Tex-TRAC dashboard Linux updates.

  • Be able to troubleshoot issues with Tex-TRAC Telehealth equipment and software.

  • Coordinates scheduling of patient follow-up appointments with available providers.

  • Provides verbal and/or written communication to patients and to providers.

  • Identifies and provides available resources to patients within their own communities.

  • Assists with registering patients in the electronic health record system.

  • Obtains medical records and laboratory results from providers and ensures CEFN clinic providers are aware of the results.

  • Works with hospital sites to perform monthly cart checks and updates.

  • Coordinates monthly on-call schedules for TeleSANEs and processes monthly TeleSANE invoices.

  • Oversees daily fiscal and purchasing activities and assists in preparation and monitoring of budgets for Tex-TRAC and TAMU ACTS Clinic.

  • Plans, implements and evaluates programs.

  • Assists in identifying funding opportunities when needed.

  • Submits purchase orders for Tex-TRAC equipment.

  • Assists in establishing short- and long-term goals and strategic planning.

  • Assists Associate Director and Forensic Nurse Manager in establishing goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for Tex-TRAC and TAMU ACTS Clinic.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with stakeholders.

Records Maintenance

  • Provides support to the providers, center director, Tex-TRAC staff, and others in collecting and maintaining necessary documentation for patients including resource materials, compliance, and records retention.

  • Complies with state and federal privacy laws and rules.

  • Ensures data is entered into spreadsheets.

  • Ensures data is entered into medical record or databases within deadlines.

    Travel

  • Travels across Texas to perform maintenance and updates on Telehealth carts, delivers and picks up Telehealth carts, and other required equipment for use of Tex-TRAC program

  • Attends training programs for professional development and continuing education to maintain competency and proficiency.
