Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting new opportunity as our Contracting Manager in the Procurement Department. The Procurement Department is the team that negotiates all the contracts for the materials and services used by all the Choice hotels throughout the U.S. As a key member of our Business Development team, you will be an integral part of the day-to-day contract negotiations that keep our hotels supplied with all the products and services they require to keep their hotels running effectively.

Your Responsibilities

• Negotiate contracts for all vendor categories

• Develop and run request for proposals (RFPs)

• Assist in maintaining and improving internal stakeholder relationships

• Provide feedback and process improvement opportunities on:

• Contracting process

• System improvements

• Commercial contract language

• Support special projects when needed

• Assist with standard operation procedures development and documentation

Your Experience, Skills & Competencies

• BA or BS degree required.

• At least 5 years’ experience in: Contracting, negotiations, and agreement coordination and administration.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Professional/mature, detail oriented, well organized, and ability to establish priorities, as well as multi-task.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proven project management skills (e.g., execution, tracking, reporting, etc.).

• Comfortable working both within a team and on an individual basis.

• Demonstrates key competencies to include:

• Action oriented

• Optimizes work processes

• Builds networks

Your Team

This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Strategic Sourcing Manager. You will have 7 peer teammates and collaborate with cross-functional departments regularly.

Your Work Location

As our Procurement Contract Manager, you will be based in our office in North Bethesda, MD, or Minneapolis, MN. Occasional nationwide travel will be required no more than 10% of the time to visit conferences and vendors.

Right now, our associates in corporate headquarters are working in a hybrid environment, up to 4 days per week in the office and virtually from your home office the remaining days. We provide flexibility and encourage ongoing communication with your leadership to establish expectations about your unique needs.
