Position Summary

In this role as a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for establishing/improving manufacturing process capability for new/sustained products. Support the execution of process transfers, equipment qualification, and process validation programs. Develop jigs/fixtures, and work instructions. Develop process improvements and support lean activities. Test new technologies, processes, controls or prototype equipment and support implementation as needed. Performs various engineering assignments with a focus on mechanical systems. Provide indirect supervision of technicians, interns and operators as required.

What you will do as a Process Engineer

  • Maintains a safe working environment by fully implementing the World Class safety initiatives and culture of STERIS Corporation and enforcing these initiatives at all times.

  • Support the execution of protocols to comply with FDA, local regulations and ISO requirements for equipment qualification, and process validations.

  • Operate effectively in a team setting.

  • Supports the team to obtain approval for Capital Appropriation Requests, design specifications and equipment installation. Provide personnel training, development of instructions and start-up of new processes/equipment.

  • Responsible for conducting process studies, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting implementation of findings to optimize processes.

  • Resolves operational deficiencies through troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions.

  • Monitor and provide solutions in terms of quality, yields, throughput, cycle times, process parameters, and safety and environmental requirements.

  • Create solid models and engineering drawings with a focus on manufacturability.

  • Design tooling, jigs, and fixtures

Experience, skills, and abilities needed

  • Engineering Bachelor’s degree; Mechanical preferred

  • 1+ years’ experience in process engineering, production support and/or wire processing. New graduates with 6 months plus internship/coop or work study related academic experience will be considered.

  • Project leadership, technical, and organizational skills required
