ModMed (https://www.modmed.com/company/) is hiring a driven Presales Manager, Solutions to join our positive, passionate, and high-performing Sales team. The ModMed Presales Manager leads and manages a team of Presales Solutions Engineers. This individual has primary responsibility for the development of their team, thought leadership on creative and cost-effective support of revenue opportunities, and the deployment of Solution Engineers to influence customers and prospects to select ModMed solutions. You are tasked with coaching and developing a fully engaged and respected team that maintains a high state of readiness to rapidly and with high quality showcase the value of ModMed solutions and innovation to our customers. In addition, you will effectively balance skills and resource allocation to best support pipeline and revenue attainment including deal management and personal leadership for the most important and strategic opportunities.

As a people manager, you are responsible for supporting the success of not only your direct reports but also all employees within the larger team they are a part of by helping to identify development opportunities and supporting team members to achieve their goals. You are expected to know about the members of their extended team and share insights with their peer managers. You should look for opportunities to coach and recognize employees directly and provide just-in-time feedback so that employees can reflect on their input immediately.

The Solutions Manager leads, mentors, and develops the business acumen, presales/sales skills, and product knowledge of each SE to enhance team performance. Strong solution-selling and value-based selling skills are required. Your Role:

Team Development Tasks:

  • Understand the expertise and potential knowledge gaps that exist on your Presales team. Identify areas of development for each team member and work with each to define and execute a tailored learning plan.

  • Lead your team to consistently deliver relevant, impactful, and compelling messaging in every interaction of the customer lifecycle.

  • Monitor the development activities for your team members toward their specialty and solution learning goals.

  • At least three times per quarter, provide feedback and coaching to each team member after dry-runs, demos, and presentations to help them continuously improve their selling, consulting, and domain skills.

  • Provide regular formal oral and written feedback to your team members during individual coaching sessions.

  • Propel all your team members toward the accomplishment of their individual metrics and sales targets.

  • Help develop the larger presales organization through special project leadership.

  • Foster an atmosphere of continuous learning and improvement.

Solution Readiness Tasks:

  • Be a collaborative leader and support the VP of Solutions Engineering in setting the vision and direction for the Presales team while motivating and coaching them.

  • Ability to cultivate and sustain relationships with key partners and stakeholders, both internal and external.

  • Provide thought leadership in matters concerning the creation and deployment of virtual assets to effectively engage with customers and prospects.

  • Maintain a high-level knowledge of ModMed’s solution suite in the specialization area of responsibility.

  • Understand the key competitors and ensure team members understand and leverage ModMed’s unique value propositions in every customer interaction.

  • Build key relationships and maintain a network of people across ModMed that can be leveraged for market unit/regional support when necessary.

  • Fully understand the demo and enablement assets that should be leveraged in the specialty segment and ensure that any gaps in needs are addressed.

  • Engage in supporting marketing events in assigned specializations where appropriate.

    Skills & Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant presales experience, preferably with 1 year of people management experience within a SaaS-based organization required

  • Proficiency in the clinical and/or medical practice management space

  • Experience selling at all levels of practice size (Enterprise, Strategic, Key)

  • Ability to travel domestically up to 25% and work across multiple time zones

  • People and Performance Management skills

  • Sales and sales processes

  • Proven success in building and motivating teams

  • Delivery of high-volume short-duration work projects
