GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position is for an entry-level attorney in the District Attorney's Office with one of the busiest criminal dockets in the State of Wyoming. We are looking for an attorney with 0-2 years of experience who will handle a very busy misdemeanor caseload.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
Handles basic core assignments: rules making, contracts, document review, client counseling, legal research for higher-level Attorneys, opinion writing, appellate briefs, oral arguments, settlements, and client counseling.
In the Prosecution/Public Defender environment, it handles a variety of misdemeanors. May receive training and assist in juvenile delinquents, Child in Need of Supervision, and Neglect cases with supervision.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Seeking an attorney with 1-2 years of experience and familiarity with the Wyoming criminal justice system
KNOWLEDGE:
- Basic knowledge of the Wyoming criminal justice system, Westlaw, writing briefs, reviewing and managing cases, and interacting with law enforcement, victims, and witnesses.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Juris doctorate.
Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is mostly sedentary.
Will require walking outside in the varying elements to get to the Courthouse.
