Position Summary:

As a Power BI Developer within our Business Intelligence (BI) team, you will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making within our organization. Leveraging your expertise in data visualization and analytics, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy Power BI solutions that drive business value.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis and Modeling: Conduct thorough analysis of business requirements and data sources to design efficient data models that support reporting and analytics needs.

  • Dashboard and Report Development: Develop interactive and visually compelling dashboards and reports using Power BI, ensuring ease of use and accessibility for stakeholders.

  • Data Visualization: Utilize best practices in data visualization to effectively communicate insights and trends to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Query Optimization: Optimize queries and data retrieval processes to enhance performance and ensure timely delivery of insights.

  • Data Governance: Implement data governance best practices to ensure accuracy, consistency, and security of data within Power BI solutions.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with BI analysts, Commercial leadership, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and iterate on solutions.

  • Documentation: Document data models, report specifications, and development processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintainability.

  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to end users to enable self-service analytics and maximize adoption of Power BI solutions.

  • Stay Updated: Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in Power BI and related technologies to continuously improve skills and drive innovation within the BI team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in STEM field (e.g., computer science, data science, engineering, information technology)

  • Proficiency in Power BI Service/Report Server, Power Query, DAX, and other related tools and technologies. 3+ years of development experience.

  • Power BI certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Microsoft Certified: Power Platform App Maker) are preferred but not required.

  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes.

  • Knowledge of ETL processes and tools.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge and experience in the spirits industry is a nice to have, but not a requirement.
