Purpose and Scope:

The purpose of the Posit Support Engineer role is to drive innovation and efficiency by enabling data-driven decision-making processes, accelerating the pace of drug discovery, and enhancing regulatory compliance. The scope of this role includes designing, implementing, and updating Kubernetes cluster containers that host Posit Workbench (Python /R and RStudio, Jupityr, or VS Code sessions) and Posit Connect and providing platform troubleshooting and solutions assistance for use cases tailored to the unique requirements of life sciences research and development.

By collaborating closely with research scientists, clinicians, regulatory experts, and DigitalX professionals, this role will establish and maintain robust data and analytics solutions that align with business objectives, regulatory standards, and industry best practices. Expertise in Posit Workbench platform and solution management ensures this state-of-the-art, fit-for-purpose platform is operational and supported throughout the enterprise.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and deploy comprehensive Validated and non-Validated container images based on user specifications or vendor releases to support the unique needs of Clinical and Operational data analytics for R&D applications.

  • Ability to navigate network configurations and storage clusters to ensure connectivity to devices, file systems, and databases.

  • Define and implement security models to ensure the correct users have access to appropriate containers.

  • Perform all platform troubleshooting tasks to keep the platform operational.

  • Implement security controls, encryption mechanisms, and access management policies to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, breaches, and cyber threats.

  • Assist users in developing Python or R-based use cases.

  • Document platform and container designs, technical specifications, and operational procedures to facilitate knowledge transfer and support ongoing maintenance and enhancements.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment of engineering solutions with organizational goals and objectives.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in clinical-themed open-source data science technologies.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and innovation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of data science practices.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience working in in data architecture, engineering roles or related roles within a healthcare industry.

  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data management and analysis, such as SQL, SAS, Python, or R.

  • Expertise in working with databases and data warehousing technologies like SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with business and IS stakeholders to ensure efficient and optimal utilization of Data & Analytics environments, initially in the context of clinical study insourcing and the support of enhanced foundational capabilities.

  • Experience with BI and analytics platforms.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and technical experts.

  • Time management capabilities, ensuring adherence to timelines for successful solution delivery.

  • Demonstrated commitment to staying current with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the data and analytics field.

  • Relevant certifications in data and analytics tools/platforms are advantageous.

Preferred

  • Life Sciences / Pharma industry experience.

  • Advanced Analytics Experience.

  • Agile Champion: Adherence to DevOps principles and a proven track record with CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.
