Summary: Performs work as it pertains to the daily operations of the FCPRD concession stands, pool, and/or program. Work is performed under the general supervision of the acting manager.

• Processes daily cash transactions of the concession, pool, or program operations;

• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively and positively with peers, visitors and callers;

• Handles inquiries concerning the concession stand, pool, or program;

• Adheres to FCPRD policies and procedures;

• Assists personnel as requested by acting manager; and,

• Other relative duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

Requirements:

Certifications, Licenses and/or Registrations: Required to obtain a Serve Safe certification within allotted time.

Experience:

• Incumbents must be at least fifteen (15) years of age by application date;

• Knowledge of safe food handling preparation and procedures.; and

• Retail experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Able to communicate effectively with staff and the public;

• Possess positive attitude and demeanor;

• Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including: nights, weekends, and holiday; and

• Able to understand Frederick County, Parks & Recreations policies and procedures.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Walking, talking, stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, standing, and gripping. Incumbent may be required move and lift materials over 50 pounds. (boxes, equipment, etc.) for extended periods of time; position requires the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

Environmental Demands: Indoor and outdoor work is conducted in variable weather conditions – including extreme heat/cold. Exposed to high or low temperatures, humid conditions, and other unfavorable weather conditions throughout the pool season.
