Queen's Health System Occupational Therapist - The Queen's Medical Center-Kahi Mohala (Call-In, Varied Shifts) in United States
RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plans, develops and implements psychosocial rehabilitation programs for patients according to the principles and practices of occupational therapy.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: standing, sitting, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting and pushing/pulling usual weight of 25 pounds; carrying usual weight of 10 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level.
• Continuous: Finger dexterity.
• Frequent: climbing stairs, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
• Occasional: stooping/bending, kneeling, walking on uneven ground, squatting, twisting body, lifting and pushing/pulling weight up to 50 pounds, carrying weight up to 20 pounds, reaching above shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Exposed to both inside and outside environmental conditions.
• Some exposure to body fluids, communicable diseases, fumes/odors/dust from craft materials.
• Work environment is sometimes stressful from patient’s physical outburst and yelling. Management of confused/disoriented and combative patients may involve tasks which may compromise physical safety.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Current Hawaii State license as an Occupational Therapist.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current certification as Occupational Therapy Registered (OTR) from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc.
• Must meet and maintain credentialing requirements with the State of Hawaii Child & Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD).
• Valid U.S. driver's license required in accordance with Hawaii State law rules and regulations.
• Driver's abstract or evidence of good driving record required.
• Current BLS certification.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• One (1) year of professional occupational therapy experience in an acute care, outpatient, inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing or home health setting preferred.
• Experience in behavioral health preferred.
