Mid-Level Environmental Planner – Wildfire Mitigation Program
POWER Engineers’ Environmental Division provides planning, permitting, engineering, site assessment, and corrective action services to clients worldwide. Across multiple industries, our diverse staff specializes in the areas of air, water, waste, environmental planning, ecological and cultural resources throughout our 45+ offices located across the country and Canada.
We are seeking mid-level Environmental Planners to support a wildfire mitigation program for a large electric utility in the Western US, and to join our 360+ person environmental team.
This position will be a full-time, remote (Pacific or Mountain time zone) with the option to work out of offices in Boise, Portland, Phoenix, Las Vegas or San Diego .
Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
Lead environmental studies for energy infrastructure projects
Lead preparation and technical writing of environmental planning and analysis documents
Research local, state, and federal permitting requirements
Lead preparation of applications
Conduct field reviews and investigations to determine suitable site locations
Interface with internal Project Managers, engineers and scientists, and subcontractors
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Education/Experience
This position requires a BS degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Geography, Environmental Planning, Landscape Architecture, or related degree
Three to nine (3-9) years of experience
Knowledge and interest in federal, state, and local environmental policy and regulation
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team and collaborative environment
Ability to travel, up to 25% of the time, for site visits and client meetings
·Experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Desired Education/Experience
Knowledge and experience with ArcGIS is a plus
An advanced graduate-level degree is a plus

Base Salary Range: $70K - $100K
The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job related knowledge, skills, experience and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(k) match, etc.
