Tripleseat Manager Software Engineering in United States
The Manager, Engineering at Tripleseat plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth through strategic platform enhancements and product integrations. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with Engineering and Product leaders on projects like scaling the core platform, globalizing the Payments service, expanding AddOn offerings, integrating cutting-edge GenAI features, and enhancing the innovative 3D floor plan product.
This role is responsible for leading a remote team of software engineers, fostering their growth, and ensuring the successful delivery of impactful features for Tripleseat’s global hospitality customers. The Manager champions technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration while aligning team efforts with Tripleseat’s mission and values.
Location: This position is open to remote candidates eligible to work in the United States.
Travel Expectations: If the ideal candidate is located outside the Concord, MA area, they will be required to complete initial onboarding at our Concord, MA office. Occasional travel may be needed for team collaboration and training.
Core Responsibilities:
Talent Management:
Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent for a remote team of software engineers.
Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and technical excellence within the team.
Conduct regular performance assessments, providing objective feedback, coaching, and mentorship to team members.
Drive individual and team growth through effective development plans and career pathing.
Build and sustain a collaborative, inclusive team culture aligning with Tripleseat’s mission and values.
Project Management:
Leverage Scrum Master expertise and Tripleseat agile techniques to plan, track, and deliver sprints effectively.
Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to manage larger projects, ensuring commitments are met across multiple sprints.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks, resolve conflicts, and ensure successful delivery of critical initiatives.
Maintain strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure project goals and progress alignment.
Continuously improve project management processes to enhance team efficiency and scalability.
Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven Management Expertise: 4+ years (ideally 6+ years) in leading cloud-based software development teams, including experience with Ruby on Rails, React, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and scalable distributed systems.
Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor developers, and collaborate effectively across functions.
Agile Leadership: Experience leading scrum teams, facilitating ceremonies, and driving continuous improvement using tools like Jira.
Prioritization: Skilled in managing competing priorities and ensuring timely delivery of complex projects.
Remote Work: Strong time-management skills to lead a distributed team effectively.
Communication & Collaboration: Clear communicator capable of conveying concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Values Alignment: A customer-focused attitude and the ability to build rapport across teams.
Preferred Experience:
Agile Certification: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent.
Technical Practices: Familiarity with modern development tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps principles.
Process Improvement: Proven track record of improving technical processes for scalability and efficiency.
