Summary PLEASE NOTE: Based on the current hiring restrictions, selectees may be subject to additional approvals prior to an offer being extended. This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Deputy Assistant Commissioner Information Services. As an IT Specialist (Entarch) (Solutions Architect), the incumbent will have primary responsibility for oversight of IT solutions for various programs and products supported by the division. Responsibilities As an IT Specialist (Entarch) (Solutions Architect), you will: Develop strategies which will translate into tactical decision making, influencing technology implementation and business operations optimization. Provide support for the development of strategies, roadmaps, and plans to minimize technology-based risks and maximize the resiliency and effectiveness of systems and business operations. Identify current and potential problem areas; conduct extensive investigation and analysis of largely undefined factors and conditions to determine the nature and scope of problems and to devise solutions. Establish criteria for new solutions. Participate in committees, workgroups, and task forces to represent the architectural interests of the agency. Provide expert guidance to internal and external business partners and stakeholders regarding current and potential risks arising from design, product, and implementation decisions. Cultivate relationships with business stakeholders and communicate and clarify the target architecture to the organization and executive leadership. Promote and educate customers and stakeholders on the use and value of the IT solution. Provide solution architecture guidance, support, and coordination to business stakeholders, application developers, infrastructure engineers, and operations staff. Requirements Conditions of Employment A one year probationary period may be required. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Periodic reinvestigation is required no later than five years after selection and at least every succeeding five years. Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required. Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time. Specialized Experience for the GS-14: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes a consistent record of technical leadership in integrating, developing, and architecting Application Programming Interface (API) solutions with both on-premises and cloud-based services; and experience performing work that involves the analysis, design, implementation, documentation, assessment, and management of the software development lifecycle and continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) of API solutions to align IT strategies and systems with the goals of the organization. Examples of specialized experience for this position include any of the following: Serving in a technical senior or leadership role (IT solution architect, enterprise architect, technical lead, etc.) responsible for successfully architecting a major IT project. Conducting detailed analysis and modeling of a systems current or planned technical architecture. Conducting and developing technical workshops and meetings with technical and business customers, executive management, and/or partners to drive effective services and implementations.
