This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of our agency. This position is responsible for conducting comprehensive internal reviews of agency-wide activities and ensuring that all operations, reports, and procedures adhere to written policies and state and federal guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
Internal Reviews:Perform thorough internal reviews of all agency activities to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Regulatory Compliance:Ensure adherence to state and federal guidelines, GAAP, and GASB standards across all programs and operations.
Subject Matter Expertise:Act as a subject matter expert in accounting practices and standards. Provide guidance and support to team members and other agency staff.
Training and Leadership:Develop and deliver training sessions on accounting principles, policies, and procedures. Lead and mentor junior accountants and other staff members.
Reporting:Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial reports, ensuring they meet all required standards and deadlines.
Process Improvement:Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE:
Strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and federal/state accounting regulations
Proven experience in conducting internal audits and reviews
Excellent leadership, communication, and training skills
High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities
Proficiency with accounting software and financial management systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience Substitution:
4-7 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Senior Accounting Analyst
OR
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Finance)
Experience:
1-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Senior Accounting Analyst
