SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist II, under general supervision, provides moderately complex human resources support. This position will oversee activities related to employee training and professional development, which may include areas such as onboarding new employees, developing and monitoring online training courses.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as Training Coordinator. Responsible for training compliance through the TrainTraq system.
Integrate course material into Articulate for online courses in compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Coordinates HR Events such as New Hire Orientation, Health Fairs, President’s Meritorious Service Awards, Wellness events and other events as assigned.
Assists new Staff and Faculty members with I-9 and onboarding completion and E-verify requirements per Federal regulations and Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) policy.
Updates department website and prepares Human Resources (HR) monthly newsletter.
Manages and administers the Employee Wellness Program, including serving as Chair of the Wellness Council.
Assists with dual employment reporting, prior state service verification and employment verification.
Monitor and maintain expenses, budget, and grants. Responsible for end of fiscal year account reconciliation.

Handles Protected Health Information (PHI) as defined by HIPAA regulations, in accordance with system policy and further required to complete HIPAA training as a condition of employment within a reasonable timeframe after the individual’s employment and on an as-needed basis thereafter.
Maintains the Center for Professional Development continuing education courses.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of related experience. Event planning experience.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Knowledge of HR concepts, principles, and practices. Skill in operating a personal computer with Microsoft Office Suite, database, and graphics software programs. Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to work with a wide range of personalities.
Other Requirements: Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours.
PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
Experience with Workday, Laserfiche, TrainTraq, Cascade/Wordpress, Canva, Articulate, and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
Human Resources Information Systems and/or Payroll Management systems.
Training/presentation experience.
Higher education work experience.
