Job Description

The Graduate Assistant will be required to act as a Test Proctor for office administered exams; as well as but not limited to checking in students, monitoring exams, and maintaining academic integrity.

This position may pay more than the minimum proposed salary listed above, depending on experience and/or qualifications of the selected candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily functions related to the Office of Testing Services program on all Prairie View A&M University campuses, which include but is not limited to; communicating with the campus and the surrounding community to answer questions, disseminate and explain information; as well as other basic office duties.

  • Act as a Test Proctor in the administration of exams offered by the Office of Testing Services, including but not limited to, ensuring the testing lab facilities and equipment are cleaned, updated, and functioning properly, monitor testers taking exams to ensure academic integrity.

  • Assisting in the maintenance of all Prior Learning Assessments records, including but not limited to, managing and filing records accordingly to office policies, and assisting in the onboarding of all PLA records.

  • Develop and present advertising materials to the campus and surrounding community that provide information on the services offered by the Office of Testing Services.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in applicable field.

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student at Prairie view A&M University (Minimum of 9 credit hours during the regular fall and spring semesters and 6 semester credit hours for the summer semester).

  • Must be in good academic standing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have excellent communication skills (both oral and written)

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to multitask; work independently (with supervision), and work cooperatively with others.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Maintain attention to detail, timely submission of deliverables, and utilize sound judgment.

  • Computer use, PowerPoint, SPSS software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer use and Microsoft Office.
