Job Description

The Financial Accountant I is responsible for all credit card programs, assisting with vehicle fleet management and serving as the Uniform Coordinator for the agency.

Responsibilities:

-Credit Card Program: Performs duties of credit card coordinator which include: (a) controlling credit programs by issuing and canceling of cards, (b) monitoring credit card usage through both manual methods and bank software programs to ensure compliance with program regulations and procedures, (c) reconcile credit card clearing accounts, (d) provide annual reports to management on compliance reviews, (e) maintain written procedures, (f) review on-line training course for compliance and improvements needed, (g) assist credit card holders with questions.

-Uniform Coordinator: Maintain uniform program for agency which includes: (a) acting as liaison with uniform vendors, (b) assisting employees with uniform-related problems, (c) manage employee accounts with vendor, (d) monitor, reconcile an submit uniform allowances at end of fiscal year and beginning of new fiscal year, (e) review and maintain Uniform Procedures for the agency.

-Vehicle Fleet Management; assist with reporting and reviews of fleet data into TxFS Fleet System.

-Backs up property management and vehicle fleet management.

Education and Experience:

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in a business related field.

Preferred Education: Major in Accounting or Finance

Required Experience: None

Preferred Experience: Two (2) years business experience in accounting

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required Knowledge: Working knowledge of Word and Excel

Required Skills: Excellent communication skills

Required Abilities: Work in a time sensitive environment with deadlines. Perform all duties with minimal direction and supervision. Review, interpret and apply Federal and State policies and procedures to Agency credit card programs. Multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Required: Texas Drivers' license or ability to acquire one within 30 days.
