What You Will Do

  • JOB SUMMARY

Partner with the Americas Supply Chain (ASC) and Global Supply Chain (GSC) Global Procurement Leaf Teams, with responsibility for financial delivery of the ASC Leaf area, providing clear insight into performance and future expectations, commercial acumen to identify areas to improve delivery, active participation in key projects and execution of strategy. Serve as primary point of contact to these areas, responsible for all aspects of delivery and independently provide key insights and business drivers to ensure senior leadership can focus on Strategic Partnering with respective teams. Create transparency around costing assumptions for all Leaf elements of our cost base, fully understand and be able to explain actual costs and form expectations of future costs by understanding key drivers across areas including supplier costs, freight and foreign exchange impacts.

  • WHAT YOU WILL DO

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operational and Strategic Activities

  • Act as a trusted partner to the Leaf Operations team; driving performance, partnering in commercial ad hoc projects to ensure the attainment of objectives.

  • Provide insight and analysis for the major costs deviations and identify risks in the cost base.

  • Responsible for the end-to-end Forecast and Planning process for Leaf.

  • Ensure Leaf initiatives are properly reflected in Budgets and forecasts.

  • Understand and forecast FX variances.

  • Establish KPIs for ASC Leaf and align with Senior Leadership Team.

  • Review current processes across Leaf categories, identify and implement improvements.

  • Provide insightful monthly results helping the Supply Chain Leadership Team and Director Finance, Americas Supply Chain Business Partner to have the right basis for decision making.

  • Create insights out of the data available and clear communication of those to Director Finance, Americas Supply Chain Business Partner as well as ASC Leaf Operations leadership teams and ensure follow up actions are taken.

  • Ensure the area is working under proper governance as expected by Group.

  • Support any audits in the area.

Leadership

  • Take Accountability for Finance in ASC Leaf.

  • Work closely with ASC Leaf Operations Leadership teams.

  • Play an active role in the ASC Finance Team.

  • Role models Company Values and behaviors and leadership qualities.

KPIs

  • Performance manage P&L Financials.

  • Working Capital management across Leaf categories (Stocks and Creditors).

  • Ensure high forecast accuracy across P&L and Cash.

  • Identify and implement process simplification and improvements across ASC Leaf categories for the tracking and recording actual performance and building future forecasts.

Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure a collaborative approach to partnering with the ASC and Finance Functions.

  • Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including Global Procurement, Supply Chain, GSC Finance, Leaf Blending Teams, Factories and Group Functions.

  • Serve as a critical connection between ASC Finance, Global Procurement and Group.

  • Clearly articulate the financial performance, reasons for variances, provide a view of the future and achievement against objectives to a wide audience through several different communication formats.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field of study with 5+ years Finance/Accounting work experience in similar role (ideally within Leaf category)

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Knowledge of:

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams

  • ERP, planning, and reporting tools

  • Financial statements, risk management and controls, GAAP, and state and federal regulations

Skilled in:

  • Verbal and written communication

  • Business analysis

  • Attention to detail

  • Problem/situation analysis

  • Effective time and task management

  • Multitasking capabilities

  • Flexibility and adaptability

Ability to:

  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • MBA or Accounting qualification – CPA, ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent

  • IFRS understanding

  • Manufacturing, supply chain experience, ideally in tobacco or regulated other industry

  • Accounting Systems (SAP, Controller, QAD)

  • Process implication/improvement experience

Work Environment and Physical Demand

  • Requires light physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves light objects (under 10 lbs.).

  • Walks, sits, or stands for prolonged periods.

  • Requires prolonged machine operation including computer and keyboard equipment.

  • Experience exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditions including second-hand smoke and/or vape.
