Summary

​​Facility Maintenance II is responsible for providing safe, timely and cost-effective repairs to the facility and on-site equipment and vehicles. This individual will be responsible for conducting safety and maintenance audits and any inspections as directed by the facilities Manager and will maintain appropriate records and documents in Carhartt web-based systems. A Maintenance Tech. II under minimal direction must be able to anticipate potential office equipment and facilities malfunctions and take appropriate action to prevent failures. Successful execution of this role results in efficient corporate operations, minimal interruptions, and smooth operation of all corporate facility-related equipment.​

Responsibilities

  • Assist Maintenance Technicians III in routine repairs to electrically powered equipment and appliances according to instruction from Facilities Manager and/or equipment service manuals.

  • Provides instruction, training, and technical direction to Maintenance Technician I

  • Maintains accurate and complete work records in ServiceNow for all equipment and service requests. Has the ability to run reports and track assets when requested from Facilities Manager

  • Conducts building and safety audits monthly, or sooner, if warranted

  • Prepares and/or processes facility inspection reports and safety audits in iAuditor. Will track inspection history, document, and address any safety issues found from inspection.

  • Evaluates plans and can assist in scheduling maintenance work; procures materials and supplies needed for specific tasks.

  • Maintains assigned tools and equipment to Carhartt standards.

  • Attends training, meeting, workshop, etc., as necessary enhance job knowledge and skills.

  • Applies carpentry techniques, using carpentry tools to construct, alter, repair, and/or install walls, stairs, floors, ceiling, windows, doors, locks, etc.

  • Completes all work in accordance with established safety procedures and OSHA regulations.

  • Supports processes that allow the facility to achieve 94% and above on all audits or clean sweep inspections.

  • Travel to other facilities to complete assigned maintenance tasks, as requested.

  • Support the Retail Facilities Team handling a wide range of duties and play a crucial part in the maintenance of current facilities and the expansion of future retail locations.

  • On call 24/7 to respond to emergencies, including building security breaches.

  • Main key holder for the facility, responsible for opening and securing the building at closing.

  • Notify or respond by email for problems that may arise within facilities.

  • Perform all tasks as needed to keep facilities in good working order.

    Education

  • High school diploma or GED

    Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience supporting the facilities and maintenance of corporate offices or commercial buildings.

  • Must complete appropriate OSHA/safety training as determined by Facilities Manager

  • Basic electrical, mechanical, and plumbing skills required.

  • Read diagrams, shop drawings, and blueprints.

  • Computer skills – Microsoft Word and Outlook email systems required; AutoCAD is preferred

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record is required.

    Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

  • On-Call availability

  • ​​This position has an On-Site location: Associate will work on-site for all work-related activities.​
