Environmental Planner/Project Coordinator
POWER Engineers’ Environmental Division provides planning and siting, permitting, civil engineering, site assessment, and corrective action services to clients worldwide. Our diverse staff specializes in air, water, waste, land use, ecological, and cultural resources across multiple industries in 45 offices nationwide and internationally.
We seek a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Planner for full-time employment supporting our Rocky Mountain Project Management and Planning Department. This position is expected to be performed in a hybrid work (part remote/part in-office) environment based in Denver, Colorado (Lakewood) office.
The successful candidate will support project teams in siting and routing, permitting (federal land use authorizations, state licensing, and local land use permitting) for renewable development and electric transmission projects in the western U.S. Support to project managers also will be required, as well as coordinating with POWER’s public involvement and engineering department staff.
Required Education/Experience
BS degree in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Planning, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related degree
Three (3) + years' experience coordinating environmental projects
Expertise in environmental planning and analysis
Knowledge and demonstrated expertise in federal and state environmental policy and regulation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, defining and understanding client requirements, managing expectations, communicating with clients and project staff
Desired Education/Experience
Expertise in state and NEPA compliance, public involvement, or technical writing in one or more of the following areas:
electric transmission lines and substations
power generation facilities, including renewables
gas pipelines (natural and hydrogen gas)

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $50K - $70K per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
