Job Description

Medical Services operates the student health clinic in the Owens Franklin Health Center serving both student and community patients for their primary health care needs. The Business Coordinator II will join the Medical Services administrative team and work collaboratively with the Health Services primarily focusing on the student health clinic.

The Business Coordinator II is responsible for day-to-day operations of the student health clinic such as billing, inventory management, Athletic billing and scheduling, maintenance, travel arrangements, expense reports, procurement care reconciliations, EMT service requests, and clinic communications. The Business Coordinator II will also provide back-up support for the front desk and Business Manager.

This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee supply management for clinical and programmatic needs. Secure necessary approvals for purchases and complete the required procurement processes and documentation for needed purchases. Manage building maintenance and work requests.

  • Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are reconciled to the appropriate accounts. Deposit payments made via check in Treasury Services. Process all health insurance claims on behalf of students. Verify clinic coding and input charges in Banner for student accounts.

  • Provide excellent customer service and provide timely communications by monitoring the health services voicemail and email accounts. Update clinic signage as needed.

  • Provide all I-9 support for the department. Manage student worker schedules and clinic operational calendars.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. ​

  • Three years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Planning and organizational skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Business, Accounting or Finance.

  • Two years of medical billing experience.

  • Two years of insurance billing experience.

  • Four years of related experience in a healthcare setting.

Special Requirements:

  • Applicants with equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree may be considered. One year of the related experience is the equivalent of one college year. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have four years of related experience to meet the equivalency in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree plus the minimum required years of experience. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have a total of seven years of experience.
