Mizuho Corporate Bank AVP – Operations - Mortgage Warehouse Finance in United States

Summary

We are seeking an experienced AVP – Operations for our Mortgage Warehouse Finance team to support our expanding Residential Mortgage Finance (RMF) business. Reporting directly to the VP of Warehouse Finance, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence, implementing innovative technologies, and ensuring exceptional client service. This role requires a deep understanding of residential mortgage finance, loan warehousing, and related capital markets products to enhance our scalable, efficient, and controlled business operations within Mizuho's framework.

Major Responsibilities

  • Client Onboarding and Setup : Lead the operational readiness for new clients, including KYC client onboarding, bank account establishment, and loan booking system preparation.

  • Warehouse Facility Management : Oversee the setup and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of warehouse facilities, ensuring full compliance with legal agreements and operational requirements.

  • Process Improvement : Collaborate with internal and external teams to enhance core processes, integrate new technologies , and drive business growth.

  • Reconciliation and Monitoring : Review and remediate daily reconciliation reports to ensure alignment between the bank’s general ledger and client activities. Monitor daily funding, sales, and margin activities in both external and internal Mizuho systems.

  • Transaction Documentation : Consolidate and manage documentation required for transaction completion, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Monthly Servicing and Reporting : Perform monthly servicing updates, coordinate waterfall payments with clients, and manage processing within ProMerit . Develop and deliver reports to meet internal department requests.

  • Client Engagement : Maintain regular communication with clients to understand their funding needs, anticipated paydown activity, and address any operational challenges.

    Requirements

  • Experience : Minimum of 4 years of experience in the RMF sector with comprehensive knowledge of mortgage finance products.

  • Technical Skills : Strong understanding of MRA/PSL legal agreements and expertise in setting up and testing warehouse facilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential; knowledge of ProMerit and SQL is a plus.

  • Client Relations : Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and effectively manage client expectations.

  • Process Improvement : Proven experience in process design and improvement.

  • Adaptability : Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
