Job Description
Will assist the head coach in team management on and off the field and will assist in organizing and administering of appropriate pre-season, season and post-season competition schedules, conditioning routines, and team and individualized coaching duties as necessary for a competitive quality program.
Responsibilities:
Will assist the head coach in team management on and off the field and will assist in organizing and administering of appropriate pre-season, season and post-season competition schedules, conditioning routines, and team and individualized coaching duties as necessary for a competitive quality program.
Will assist head coach in all areas of recruitment for the team, this includes traveling to scouts to evaluate potential players as well as planning and arranging campus visits.
Will assist the head coach in all administrative aspects of the program including attending coaches meetings, securing team travel and accommodations, compliance and academic monitoring of students-athletes. Will attend required NCAA, SWAC and TAMU System education trainings, clinics and conferences and adhere to established rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
Serves as primary coach to men and women long sprinters and middle distance runners. Will perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of coaching experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
Special Requirements:
Applicants with equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree may be considered. One year of the related experience is the equivalent of one college year. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have four years of related experience to meet the equivalency in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree plus the minimum required years of experience. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have a total of seven years of experience.
