The USC Sol Price School of Public Policy is seeking a senior level working professional with expertise in Nonprofit Leadership and Management with a particular focus in Social Innovation. The successful candidate should possess a graduate degree and 7 years of experience in the field of creating social change through new products, services, programs, or systems. The candidate will be able to teach graduate-level courses related to one or more of the following areas: Nonprofit Leadership and Management, Social Innovation, current practices and approaches to solving social problems in new, more effective ways. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching or training experience.

Course Description: PPDE 580 Social Innovation

This course presents an overview of how social innovation can be used to tackle complex social problems. Students will learn how one can recognize and evaluate social innovation and social innovation processes. The course covers the perspectives of various actors (non-profits, new ventures, established companies, and governments) engaged in social innovation, and will explore the challenges and opportunities for these different actors in social innovation processes. Case studies examine relevant examples of social innovation across these types of actors and areas of interest.

Adjunct responsibilities include delivery of course content, scheduling office hours and being accessible to students as appropriate, and grading. Each instructor is expected to provide students with a syllabus outlining the course goals, schedule and all requirements for the course under the direction of the Department Chair.

The hourly rate range for this position is $29.06/hr. - $38.89/hr.
