AON DFIR Consultant, EDR in Virtual, New York

What the day will look like

Aa a Consultant on our DFIR (Digital Forensics & Incident Response) team specializing in Endpoint Monitoring, you will perform professional services in a fast-paced data breach consulting environment. You will provide assistance during a post breach incident by conducting threat hunting and containment using an EDR (endpoint detection and response) tool.

If you want to work on some of the highest profile and complex cases out there, we are that first responder. With teams in our state of the art DFIR labs, as well as virtual, your work will vary from day to day responding to breaches, nation state attacks, ransomware, just to name a few. The team works closely together to ensure learning, growth and career development. And we invest in you, in the form of mentorship and hefty training budgets to attend security training and conferences.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical individuals.

  • Able to work in a hyper reactive incident response consulting environment.

  • Hands-on technical experience and ability to utilize various EDR software for monitoring and threat hunting in a client’s environment. This may involve deploying, configuring, operating, monitoring and troubleshooting EDR tools.

  • Be willing to learn new tools and technical knowledge to assist in everyday monitoring duties, provide mentorship to team members, and have a general understanding of the full life cycle of digital forensic and incident response cases to provide the best results possible.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Prior endpoint monitoring experience utilizing an EDR solution such as Sentinel One, Crowdstrike, Carbon Black or similar tools.

  • Strong foundational security knowledge.

  • Understanding of current security threats and other challenges, as well as frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and Pyramid of Pain.

  • Experience in creating and implementing custom watch-lists for IOCs in a EDR platforms.

  • Ability to respond to inquiries and work beyond normal business hours if necessary.

  • Must have a desire to learn, possess a strong work ethic and a collaborative work style.

    Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience.

    Pay Transparency Laws:

    The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $95,000-$130,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

    This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
