Job Summary

Responsible for collaborating with branch leadership to manage facility maintenance projects, technician work orders, and preventive maintenance services. Supports senior regional facility specialists and the branch services team as necessary.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Manages end-to-end requests from branches utilizing Freshdesk across the business. Assist landlords and senior management in making financial decisions related to repairs and maintenance for White Cap operational facilities by obtaining vendor quotes and submitting and managing capital expense requests.

  • Receives Freshdesk tickets and assigns to other Specialists based on regional responsibility. May provide additional support to senior specialists when needed.

  • Researches and uses assigned financial approval responsibility to procure vendors for facilities work. Interprets facilities' legal lease language to identify financial obligations.

  • Acts as a liaison for businesses when interacting with local, state, and federal agencies (such as fire departments, building authorities, and OSHA). Ensures the facility remains in compliance with OSHA and other safety requirements.

Nature and Scope

  • Works in compliance with established procedures and/or protocols. Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly defined problems. Demonstrates skill in data analysis and techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in routine research/data.

  • Nature of work requires general supervision; exercises judgment. May be paired with a mentor. Work typically involves regular process checks or review of output by a coworker and/or supervisor.

  • May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support personnel.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Certification may be required in some areas. Generally 0-2 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 0-1 year of experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • This is a REMOTE position.

  • Strong customer service, communication, interpersonal, time management, decision-making, and effective problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on business needs and urgency.

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Intermediate Excel skills.

  • Strong understanding of OSHA, as well as local and federal facilities-related regulations.
