Job Overview Project Manager Role is critical as it will manage the cost, accomplishment, and communication both internally and externally for all related responsibilities. Manage new machine builds in our Iron Range region which includes upper Michigan mines. Keep in close contact with Planners to help them schedule and develop their future projects. Review completed jobs to ensure quality and full work scopes have been met. Develop and manage strategic plan for long term business growth in the market region. Liaison between Milwaukee manufacturing and Field Service Manager. Create critical path for new shovel assemblies, related shovel long-range upgrades, and related shovel moves. Coordinate with Milwaukee production and scheduling to coordinate schedules for shipments of new machines. Key Job Responsibilities New machine assembly:Arrange cranes and trucking. Work up a schedule and plan for overall machine assembly. Make sure we have correct number of people on the job. Work with the assembly lead man on build schedule, manpower and various assembly issues. Document, investigate and compile all backcharge data in CCR's and Excel. Keep track of assembly costs and report to supervisor. Make sure assembly costs stay under budget. Work with local sales group and MKE on machine specs. Deliver completed machine and get acceptance signed. Submit and post acceptance document and all other documents for return. Warranty Administrator:Review all warranty CCR's and jobs. Clean up details in these CCR's before submitting. Submit warranty CCR's to Corporate (Milwaukee). Estimate manpower and hours necessary to complete projects. Communicate with production on component scheduling issues; look for different avenues to complete on time delivery of components. Scheduling and coordination with Sales, Engineering, Customers and Managers the project requirements, deadlines and specifications. Perform audits for customers on repairs of equipment. Work with management group to develop business strategies to increase revenue and profit. Ensure that assignments and scheduling of work follows project deadlines. Other Duties:Work with the service department on various issues and on mandatory service letters. Working with Milwaukee OP-EX group on OEM shipping kaizen and shovel assembly kaizen. Qualifications/Requirements This job requires either 10 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience relevant to the position. It requires self-motivation, excellent interpersonal skills and a general understanding of office equipment and software. A background in dealing with safety procedures at a minesite is also necessary. Strong understanding of all MSHA, OSHA and DOT regulations. 5 Years in mining experience. Understanding of a wide range of mechanical systems. Willing to travel. Must have computer skills Must have Mechanical or related technical education.
