Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be working on tasks such as general ledger maintenance, financial report generation, account reconciliation, and customer invoice issuance. This role is centered on maintaining the financial health and integrity of our operations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the processing of accounts payable invoices, establish new accounts, and initiate payments while responding to vendor inquiries.

• Issue invoices to customers and oversee accounts receivable aging.

• Conduct month-to-month general ledger reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.

• Assist in preparing monthly balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.

• Carry out payroll functions and participate in physical inventory reconciliations.

• Reconcile bank accounts monthly, verify deposits, and manage daily cash activity for all bank accounts.

• Maintain the fixed assets ledger and carry out depreciation calculations.

• Conduct job costing analysis and profit margin analysis.

• Assist with internal and external audits by gathering necessary account information and documents to fulfill audit requests.

• Participate in various department-wide initiatives, ensuring knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures is maintained.

Requirements • Must have substantial experience in the Metal Fabrication industry.

• Holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Demonstrated experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries.

• Highly skilled in using Microsoft Excel for financial data management and reporting.

• Previous experience with Month End Close procedures is necessary.

• Familiarity with Job Cost accounting in a metal fabrication setting.

• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role is required.

• Knowledge of accounting software and databases is a plus.

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency.
