Job Title: General Laborer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated General Laborer to join our team. This role involves working across multiple departments within our facility to help organize and maintain operations. The ideal candidate will be flexible, reliable, and ready to take on various tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing the different departments within the facility.

• Use hand and power tools such as hand saws and jigsaws to break down pallets and other wooden fixtures.

• Lift and dispose of items such as wood, aluminum scraps, and excess material from signs.

• Responsible for palletizing materials for disposal.

• Assemble and set up new pallets and racks, and tear down existing racks using hand and power tools.

• Be flexible with daily tasks, which may change based on the facility's needs that day.

• On occasion, climb a 6-foot ladder and grab items from the racks; must be comfortable with heights.

Essential Skills

• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds without restriction.

• Comfort with heights and ability to climb ladders up to 6 feet.

• Use of hand and power tools, including hand saws and jigsaws.

• Strong attendance and punctuality.

• Reliable transportation.

• Efficiency and effectiveness in task completion.

• Ability to work well with others and follow directions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Physical dexterity and attention to detail.

• Adherence to safety protocols and use of PPE.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing daily tasks.

• Preparedness with steel toe boots and warm clothing for outdoor tasks.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility that is non-climate controlled.

Work schedule: Monday-Friday, 7 AM - 5:30 PM, with potential for additional hours on Saturdays. Must be comfortable with working overtime.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
