Job Title: Entry HVAC Technician

Job Description

As a Facilities Technician, you will load and unload equipment, perform basic preventative maintenance, and carry out minor repairs to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment.

• Perform basic preventative maintenance on Power/HVAC/Compressor/Pump equipment and accessories.

• Carry out minor repairs to avoid equipment downtime.

• Ensure safety and effectiveness in all maintenance tasks.

• Adhere to operational processes and systems.

Essential Skills

• 1-3 years of experience with repairing and maintaining Power/HVAC/Compressor/Pump equipment and accessories.

• Basic knowledge of generators, power distribution, A/C, Heater, HVAC, and Diesel-driven Pumps.

• Understanding of diesel equipment, electronics, and hydraulics.

• Operational process/system aptitude.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• EPA Universal Certification.

• Experience with troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.

• Knowledge of power generators, hydraulics, and electronics.

Work Environment

You will initially work in a shop located in Chesapeake. Subsequently, you will be working at the Newport News Shipyard/HII to help maintain rental HVAC equipment. The role requires physical activities such as bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 25 pounds or more, and working both indoors and outdoors as needed. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
