Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Manager in the Real Estate and Property industry, based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States. The role involves overseeing a team of accountants, managing financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and guide a team of accountants, promoting their detail-oriented development.
• Ensure timely completion of monthly and mid-month assignments to meet strict deadlines.
• Scrutinize and provide insights on revenue, expense, and balance sheet account variances.
• Oversee the management of the Fixed Asset system, including capitalization policies, depreciation calculations, and analytics.
• Supervise all Debt payments, accruals, lender reporting, analytics, and document compliance.
• Handle utilities management, encompassing accruals, payments, and analytics.
• Develop a thorough understanding of all financial transactions, systems, and associated industry terms.
• Conduct detailed analysis of account activity, balances, and variances.
• Ensure compliance in reporting and payment obligations by reviewing agreements and contracts.
• Review intercompany balances and ensure accuracy.
• Utilize the Workday ERP for preparing and analyzing financial statements, transactions, and account activity.
• Become proficient in other systems including Utility websites, Serengeti, Sales Force, and MRI property management.
• Evaluate, formulate, and document accounting procedures, policies, and controls.
• Support in internal or external audits as required.
• Implement process improvements and efficiencies in accounting operations. Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA Eligibility preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger, accrual, and GAAP accounting
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems to manage financial data effectively.
• Experience with Concur for travel and expense management.
• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning to streamline business processes.
• Solid understanding of Accounting Functions to ensure financial accuracy.
• Experience in Auditing to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Expertise in maintaining General Ledger for accurate financial tracking.
• Experience in Month End Close procedures to ensure timely financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
