PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: The Accounting Manager reports to the Vice President of Finance and Business Systems in the performance of a variety of tasks and is primarily responsible for managing daily financial transactions and tasks related to all facets of the Operation and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the ERP and other company systems consistent with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards (GAS), and corporate ethics, goals, and objectives. A highly proficient level of accounting, business experience and judgment are required to plan and accomplish goals. Performance of responsibilities is expected to be completed on an accurate and timely basis, and with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate is proficient in Deltek software solutions and can leverage these tools to enhance project performance and financial integrity.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the accounting staff and is responsible for all accounting functions, such as financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation, cash management, General Ledger, business accounting practices, and others
Recruits and hires accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations
Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff
Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls and audits over accounting transactions to minimize risk
Maintains a documented system of timekeeping policies and procedures; implements a system of controls and audits over timekeeping to minimize risk
Manages all financial related elements of the company’s ERP system in support of both Government Services Contracting (Job Costing) and Commercial Manufacturing (Cost Accounting and Inventory)
Develops and manages business and accounting processes, tools, analysis, and reporting to generate and manage Financial Statements, Revenue Forecasts, Cash Flow Forecasts, Budgets, Reconciliations, and other such business and financial performance metrics
Production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Governmental Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and other financial reporting standards as required
Prepares for and manages all external audit requirements, such as DCAA Incurred Cost Submissions, Accounting System Audits, Insurance audits, Tax, and other financial audits
Develop financial proposals in support of company Government Services Contracting opportunities and existing contracts
Manages all financial aspects of company Government Services Contracts in coordination with internal Business Unit Leadership and various external Government Contracting Agencies
Develops and manages company Subcontractor contracts and relationships
Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates and works with outside auditors and provides needed information for various requirements
Assist Accounting Staff with daily duties as necessary to complete tasks accurately and on time
Presents recommendations to management on financial objectives and policies
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
Performance of responsibilities is expected to be completed on an accurate and timely basis in support of senior leadership and corporate policies and goals
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations
Employs Continual Improvement practices to streamline processes using automated data mining, workflows, and other such tools and techniques, to improve accounting effectiveness and efficiency
Utilize Deltek Vision or Deltek Costpoint to manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting
Provide training and support to team members in utilizing Deltek systems effectively
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required
Eight years or more of related experience required
Certified Public Accountant designation a plus
Firm Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards (GAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
Firm knowledge of Accounting Practices related to Government Services Contracts as well as Commercial Manufacturing and Inventory best practices
Highly Proficient in ERP Accounting software specific to Job Cost and Manufacturing Cost Accounting and Inventory practices
Exceptional process automation and data mining and analytics skills required
Excellent data analytic skills using database tools and spreadsheet software such as Excel, Power Query, Excel VB, MySQL
Proficient use of data visualization tools, such as Microsoft Power BI a plus
Ability to quickly learn industry-related regulations and utilize information in written reports
Excellent management and supervisory skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other business software
Proven experience using Deltek Costpoint, or other Deltek solutions is required
