Position Summary Information

The Villanova Center for Resilient Water Systems VCRWS is hiring student research assistants to work on a variety of water resources projects in the Stormwater Quality Lab for summer 2025. The Center collects and analyzes stormwater samples from field sites both on and off campus. The student research assistant would complete both lab and field work to support stormwater sampling. Laboratory work includes acid-washing glassware, maintaining a safe and clean lab, preparing samples for analysis, and preparing reagents for instrumentation. Field work entails helping graduate students with maintaining their field sites, collecting samples, and installing/maintaining equipment.Extremely detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions. Able to work well both independently and as part of a team. Has critical thinking skills in order to work safely in the lab and field. Science or Engineering major preferred, but not required. Previous laboratory experience required for example, general chemistry laboratory course is acceptable. Must be 18 years of age or older.Position can start June 2nd, 2025 pending HR on-boarding.Must be willing to complete repetitive tasks in the lab and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to work in uncomfortable field conditions such as extreme temperatures, humidity, and/or rain. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.$15/hour
