This position is open to scholars of literature, culture, and linguistics. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: decolonial studies, the African diaspora, indigenous rights, identity, bilingualism, language policy, and sociolinguistics. Scholars whose work encourages collaboration in the Department and across the university are especially welcome. Villanova is a Catholic university sponsored by the Augustinian order. Successful candidates will, through their research, teaching, and/or service, contribute to diversity and excellence in the academic community. Villanova is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer and seeks candidates who understand, respect and can contribute to the University's mission and values. * The successful candidate will conduct scholarly research and teach courses in their area of expertise, as well as Spanish language courses. * Additional responsibilities include advising students and actively participating in the department's efforts to foster a vibrant and collaborative academic community. * Candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand or have defended their doctoral dissertation by August 1st, 2025. * A history of scholarly achievement with demonstrated excellence in teaching is required, as is near-native proficiency in both Spanish and English.
