Maries County Bank Payroll and Benefits Specialist The Maries County Bank in Vienna, Missouri

General Statement of Duties: The Payroll and Recruitment Specialist processes semi-monthly payroll ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. The Benefits Specialist assists employees with benefit enrollment and questions, verifies all insurance billing, maintains employee database and files, and ensures compliance with required benefits notices. This position also performs administrative tasks to support effective and efficient operations of the Human Resources department. This position involves extensive customer contact and interdepartmental contact. Upholding confidentiality is a must.

Essential Job Functions:

Enters, maintains, and processes payroll information in the HRIS payroll system such as hourly rates, salaries, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, holidays, tax withholdings, benefit deductions, garnishments, new-hires, terminations, address changes, etc.

Submits, reconciles, and files biweekly 401K contributions via HRIS data feeds.

Reconciles payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.

Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.

Coordinates federal and state payroll tax deposits with the HRIS processor.

Keeps up-to-date on federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

Assists with annual compensation review.

Works with the HRIS processor to ensure accurate annual W-2 and W-3 completion.

Prepares annual Bancorp payroll submission.

Completes quarterly and end of year payroll reports per government regulations and bank need.

Identifies and recommends updates to payroll account software, systems, and procedures.

Provides records, reports, and other documentation to auditors as needed.

Balances bank general ledger accounts with HRIS reports on a monthly basis.

Works with HRIS system to create custom reports for auditors and management team members.

Monitors FMLA usage in the payroll system as needed.

Maintains employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, and other key details.

Participates in benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, COBRA processing and invoice reconciliation for Health, Dental, Life, Long Term Disability, AFLAC, ESOP and 401K plans.

Stays up-to-date on all benefit plan summaries for The Maries County Bank.

Processes benefit payments with HR Director approval.

Assists in the creation and processing of benefit open enrollment plans within the HRIS system.

Balances benefit general ledger accounts with HRIS reports on a monthly basis.

Resolves administrative/billing problems with benefit carrier representatives as needed.

Balances cafeteria plan account monthly and assists with annual account set up.

Submits Felonious Assault benefit enrollment forms annually.

Assists new employees and employees with life changing events to ensure benefit changes are entered appropriately in the HRIS system for payroll deduction by regulation deadlines.

Follows 401K and ESOP plan guidelines to submit new enrollee data to plan administrators, organizes new enrollee meetings, provides enrollment materials to new enrollees, and tracks enrollment submissions in the HRIS system.

Creates annual 401K and ESOP reports with the aide of the HRIS system for plan administrators.

Keeps up-to-date on 401K and ESOP distribution processes and procedures.

Assigns new hire and exit packets as needed and tracks benefit elections within timeframe deadlines.
