Our client, Steel Fabricator is seeking a Rolling Mill Maintenance Supervisor to join their team. As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be part of the Rolling Mill supporting Engineering & Production The ideal candidate will have mechanical, maintenance, and rolling mill experience which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Rolling Mill Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Beaumont, Texas

Pay Range: $100,000 - $125,000

Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing and optimizing the mechanical maintenance operations within the rolling mill, finishing, and shipping departments at the Beaumont Mill location. This role involves leading a team of maintenance technicians to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of approximately 18 hourly maintenance technicians. Oversee employee selection, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. Foster a positive and safe work environment.

  • Maintenance Planning and Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to optimize equipment lifespan and reduce breakdowns. Prioritize and schedule maintenance activities to minimize production disruptions.

  • Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly. Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues. Initiate cost-saving maintenance projects and implement corrective actions.

  • Spare Parts Management: Efficiently manage inventory of spare parts to ensure timely repairs and minimize downtime.

  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety inspections. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and environmental standards.

  • Performance Metrics: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment uptime, maintenance costs, and safety. Analyze data to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance maintenance processes, reduce costs, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

  • Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in supervising mechanical maintenance teams in a heavy industrial environment.

  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop employees.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Proficiency in maintenance planning and scheduling.

  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information

  • Reports to: General Supervisor, Rolling Mill Maintenance

  • Position requires on-call availability for emergency breakdowns.
