Job Description
ESG Operations, an Inframark Company, is hiring a licensed Operations Supervisor to lead our team of wastewater and wastewater treatment operators in Vidalia, GA.This position is responsible for supervising the continuous operation of the water system, water wells, water plants, stand pipes, all other components of the potable water system, and the activities of the staff. This position requires some interaction with the public/customers, clients, and city officials.

Duties and responsibilities
Prepare internal reports, regulatory reports, and client reports as defined by the project manager
Intermittently check and verify that the staff is performing duties correctly, including operations, maintenance, safety, lab procedures and QA/QC program
Conduct weekly/monthly meetings with department heads pertaining to project performance and goal achievement
Help define then approve functions and objectives of the facilities and staffs
Take effective correction action in case of emergencies
Oversee safety program and assures its being aggressively followed
Conduct interviews with potential employees
Perform employee evaluations
Administer discipline to employees that violate of company policies and procedures
Approve project staff schedules
General office and plant administrative responsibilities
Assist in budget planning and preparation
Assume the role and responsibility of the project manager in his/her absence
Attend safety classes, reinforce and comply with company safety policies
Work harmoniously with ESG employees and the public and comply with all ESG policies
Qualifications
Requires high school diploma or GED, and the equivalent of one year of college or specialized vocational training in chemistry, or a closely related field. Five years’ experience in water system construction, operation, distribution, maintenance, or equipment operations. Must have a Class II Water Treatment Plant Operator License in state employed. Must have a valid state driver’s license and meet minimum driving standards.
Knowledge of:
Knowledge of principles and methods of surface water treatment and groundwater analysis
General knowledge of engines, pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment
Supervising, mentoring, and coaching of employees
Water permit specifics and limitations
Knowledge of backflow devices and required locations
Skill in:
Supervising and training department heads
Operating various related process control and laboratory equipment
Oral and written communication
Evaluating operating parameters and adjusting plant processes
Ability to:
Understand and follow oral and written instructions
Able to work in constricted places
Perform mathematical computations
Work emergency duty during non-scheduled work hours
Work overtime, work any day, including all State and Federal recognized holidays
Distinguish between different shades of color
Working conditions
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and inside/outside conditions; to include potentially hazardous pollutants and industrial operations, dirt, grease, moving mechanical parts requiring the use of protective devices. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. This position requires medium work involving standing or walking all of the time, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force on a regular basis, and considerable dexterity and skill in operating machinery, tools, or office equipment.
