Job Summary :
Drive a winning culture through respect for people. Serve as the intermediary between Quality Management Systems and POD manufacturing support functions to enhance quality at the source, focusing on RPN Reduction, JBS, Standard Work, etc. at the Vidalia, GA location.
Responsibilities :
Support the mission of the Quality & Engineering team.
Participate in Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP)
Participate in Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP)
Oversee the PFMEA/Control Plan Maturity Path.
Assist the Supplier Quality Engineer with supplier corrective action requests (SCAR).
Establish and manage Layered Process Audits in accordance with Daily Manufacturing Excellence requirements.
Help support the operations team to create and follow Standard Work that enables 100% takt attainment, while maintaining a safe environment and a zero-defect product.
Foster an environment where employees are treated with respect and dignity, there’s an emphasis on communication and business goals, and accomplishments and activities in support of operating objectives are actively clarified.
Evaluate and improve the skills and performance of team members and Team Leaders.
Promote lean cultural transformation, 5S program, usage of value stream tools and visual factory.
Advocate for transformational change by identifying techniques to break down barriers, while encouraging employees to participate in Rapid Improvement Events (RIE’s) and change their way of thinking.
Work with Team Leaders to build a sense of community within teams by promoting a team environment, actively listening to employees needs and providing coaching where necessary.
Integrate processes, teams, people, and resources to achieve daily and long term operating objectives in safety, quality, customer delivery, costs and people development.
Consistently apply Trane policies and procedures.
Foster interdepartmental relationships and coordinate with other supervisors to facilitate operations, activities and events
Facilitate meetings with multifunctional groups including corporate representatives
Qualifications and Requirements:
· Must have High School diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
· A minimum of one (1) year of Trane Team Leader experience or three (3) years of factory leadership or production management required.
· Must have a clear understanding of servant leadership and the capability to be a servant first.
· Completion of TLDP or MDI experience or other leadership training is desired.
· Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to lead by example and positively influence and inspire others to meet goals.
· Demonstrated ability to communicate goals, strategy and vision, address and resolve difficult issues, work effectively in a team environment and lead with little direct supervision.
· Experience in setting performance goals and providing feedback.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel. Working knowledge of ETQ, Relyence and other QMS software.
· Must have the flexibility to work more than 40 hours per week and on weekends as needed.
· Must have a strong understanding of Operational Excellence tools.
· Prior work history and experience at Trane and other employers will be considered.
· Must have demonstrated sense of responsibility, leadership skills, and accuracy in performance of past and present job assignments
Physical Requirements :
· Perform tasks requiring hand and eye coordination, with good hand dexterity (gripping and pinching repetitively) for more than 2/3’s of work shift
· Lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 10 pounds continuously, 25 pounds repetitively and 50 pounds occasionally. Lifting or carrying objects over 50 pounds requires a two person lift, or a lift assist
· Bend, twist, squat, kneel, and/or stoop repetitively 6 to 8 hours per day
· Reach overhead repetitively for more than 2/3’s of work shift
· Stand continuously for 8 to 10 hours per day
· Climb up and down stairs up to 3 hours per day
· Use of senses to detect quality defects and unsafe conditions
· Basic visual requirements for precision work
· Moderate physical exertion
