Rolling Plains Management Corporation is seeking a Family Services Advocate to work in the Wilbarger County Preschool in Vernon, Texas. The position is full time with standard work hours from 8am to 5pm, M-F, with occasional overtime. Adaptability to flexible schedules set by management is essential. The Family Service Advocate exercises individual discretion and independent judgment on significant matters within their scope.
The primary role of the Family Service Advocate is to coordinate and provide direct support services collaboratively with the Family Service Specialist to Head Start families through case management, home visits, family needs assessment, family goals, resources, and referrals, establishing and maintaining community partnerships, and doing recruitment/enrollment. Parent and family engagement activities are grounded in positive, ongoing, and goal-oriented relationships with families and work toward parents achieving their goals. By providing support and encouragement to parents and guardians, family engagement outcomes are achieved, resulting in children who are healthy and ready for school.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED and;
- Bachelors degree in Social Work, human development, family services or a related field preferred or;
- Associates in a related field or;
- Family Service Credential Certificate
Two years of experience working with low-income communities/families in a similar setting is preferred.
Must embrace the principle of the parent as the primary educator and support the attachment of parent and child.
Excellent communication and organizational skills are requiredcommunicating
effectively with other team members and management.
Ability to balance various duties, prioritize, and meet deadlines required.
Demonstrate the ability to perform personal computer operations within a Windows software environment.
Ability to understand and carry out instructions and procedures with minimal supervision.
Must be flexible and able to adapt to change in the workplace.
Available for a light amount of night and weekend work.
Must be willing to take and pass a drug/alcohol test and comply with the Drug-Free Agency Policy.
Must be able to pass regular criminal history checks.
Must submit to TB tests as required.
