[Clay County highway department is looking for a highway maintenance worker. Performs semi-skilled and skilled construction, maintenance, and repair work on highways and related facilities and equipment. ]{aptos=""}

• Preferred qualifications: has CDL and experience in road maintenance/related field. Willing to train the right applicant.
• Salary depends on experience.

Example of duties: (any one position may not include all the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all duties which may be found in all positions.)

• Serves as a member if a crew in performing routine construction, maintenance, and repair work on highways and related structures including removing snow, hauling materials, mowing grass, sanding surfaces, welding and cutting, building and repairing bridges, and installing and maintaining traffic control devices.
• Receives training in a variety of vehicles and light, medium, and heavy equipment including but not limited to dump trucks, front-end loaders, backhoes, and tractors in construction, maintenance, and repair operations.
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment, performs routine minor repairs.
• Operates power or hand tools as needed.
• Performs related work as required.
• Conduct should be in a safe and respectable manner and not abuse or use equipment in an unsafe manner,
• Needs Commercial Driver's License.
