As the primary engineering interface, you\'ll lead the Program Office and Business Development teams for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs, ensuring projects meet technical, quality, schedule, and cost objectives. You\'ll be responsible for the performance of the engineering team and effective resource management, communicating needs to various disciplines to ensure projects are adequately staffed and exceed customer commitments.   • Key engineering interface with assigned customers for project portfolio.
  • Key engineering interface to Business Development for guiding the advancement of products to meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Provides support to production issues as needed.
  • Overall technical leader and authority to the program, customer, partners and regulatory agencies.
  • Drives overall technical execution of projects in the portfolio under his/her leadership.
  • Ensures program scope is understood, and identifies overall budgetary needs for successful project execution.
  • Drives execution and performance measurement of the CPI/SPI process to ensure all program requirements and objectives are met on schedule and within the authorized budget.
  • Ensures the IPTs develop, maintain and communicate resource demand forecasts to disciplines (functional management), and global engineering centers required to support the program.
  • Develops overall program milestones and master schedules.
  • Develops a schedule for program technical reviews, and ensures design reviews are executed to standard work.
  • Executes the program in accordance with Collins Management System, and reviews and approves deviations and task tailoring.
  • Review and approval of formal program technical communication and documentation with customer.
  • Supports the PMO change management process with impact assessments, trade studies, and assertions.
  • Supports product line strategy development and technology roadmapping events.
  • Ensures the development and management of technical risks and develop and executes mitigation plans.
  • Ensures design-to-cost targets are achieved.
  • Ensures requirements standard work is executed, and all technical requirements are met, and successful integration is achieved with the customers system.
  • Ensure compliance with international trace compliance polices and procedures.
  • Ensures the protection of Collins and safeguard of customer and supplier/partner intellec ual property.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experienceoran Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experienceorin absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
  • S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee)

Qualifications We Prefer:

Strong aerospace systems engineering background with applicable technical knowledge in aircraft fuel systems preferred

Strong customer and internal stakeholder relationship

Strong communication skills and ability to work across the organization and various disciplines, including Engineering, Programs, Quality and Operations

Project management and performance measurement and tracking methods and tools

Strong process skills and familiarizaiton with lean initiatives and policy deployment

Ability to prepare and deliver key program metrics and internal/external presentations

Management of core team members and IPT leaders

Experience running multiple complex projects that include teams from multiple locations and countries
