AUI Partners Field Engineer in Various Locations, Texas

The Field Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar energy systems in the field. This role requires excellent technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

  1. Site Surveys and Assessments:

• Conduct thorough surveys and assessments of potential sites for solar energy installations.

• Evaluate factors such as solar exposure, shading, terrain, and structural integrity to determine optimal locations for solar panels.

  1. Design and Engineering:

• Design and engineer solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) arrays, inverters, and battery storage systems.

• Develop detailed engineering plans and specifications based on site surveys and project requirements.

  1. Installation Coordination:

• Coordinate with project managers and construction teams to ensure seamless installation of solar energy systems.

• Provide technical guidance and support during the installation process to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.

  1. Quality Inspections and Testing:

• Perform quality inspections and testing of installed solar energy systems to verify performance and functionality.

• Identify and address any defects or deficiencies in the installation to ensure reliability and safety.

  1. Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to solar energy systems, including electrical, mechanical, and communication components.

• Develop effective solutions to resolve issues and minimize downtime.

• Conduct routine maintenance and servicing of solar energy systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Technical Support and Training:

• Provide technical support and guidance to field technicians and subcontractors involved in solar energy projects.

• Offer training sessions and workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members in solar energy system installation and maintenance.

  1. Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate documentation of project activities, including installation reports, inspection records, and maintenance logs.

• Compile detailed reports on project progress, performance metrics, and any deviations from the original plans.

• Ensure all documentation is organized and readily accessible for future reference and regulatory compliance.

  1. Continuous Improvement:

• Collaborate with engineering and research teams to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in solar energy technologies.

• Participate in ongoing research and development initiatives to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of solar energy systems.

  1.  Health and Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to all health and safety protocols and regulations applicable to solar energy installations.

• Take proactive measures to mitigate potential hazards and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel involved in field operations.

  1. Customer Interaction:

• Interface with customers to address inquiries, provide technical expertise, and ensure satisfaction with installed solar energy systems.

• Act as a point of contact for customer concerns or feedback, and facilitate prompt resolution of any issues that arise.



  • Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications

  • Viewpoint experience

  • Able to read and understand blueprints and drawings

  • Able to budget, schedule, negotiate and control costs

  • Familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms and conditions

  • Extensive Travel Required (Depending on Job Site Location)
