About the Role:
As a CVOR Surgical Technologist at PeaceHealth, you'll play a crucial role in assisting our surgical team during complex cardiovascular procedures. You will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the sterile field, anticipating the needs of the surgeons, and ensuring the smooth flow of the operation. This part-time (0.75 FTE), day shift position offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of our patients. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.

Competitive Salary: $39.41 – $58.63 per hour (The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.)

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring aseptic technique.
Arrange and inventory sterile supplies and instruments, passing them to the surgical team as needed.
Assist in patient preparation and positioning.
Assist physicians during invasive cardiovascular procedures, including scrubbing in and handling guide wires, catheters, and other instruments.
Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments.
Assist with room turnover and cleanup.
Access and utilize computer systems for preference lists, digital images, and other information.
Perform pre-procedural patient care activities.
Monitor and record patient conditions and procedural progress.
Operate and maintain clinical equipment.
Participate in safety initiatives and adhere to quality programs (SCIP, SCOAP).
Qualifications:
Education: Accredited Secondary Education Program in Surgical Technology (Required)
Experience: Minimum 2 years of CVOR surgical technologist experience (Required), Minimum 2 years previous hospital experience (Required)
Credentials: Surgical Technician - Washington Surgical Technologist Registration (Required), Basic Life Support (Required), Certified Surgical Technologist (Preferred)
Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of age-specific principles of growth and development, proficient computer and keyboarding skills, complete understanding of vascular and related organ anatomy, ability to work effectively in a team environment, strong problem-solving skills, precision, and flexibility.
