Position Details:
Summary of Duties:
The Site Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, administration, and direct support of the WSU Tri-Cities- Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) project at a designated high school. Provides services to a cohort of approximately 150-799 students, manages an operating budget, and supervise administrative professional, and temporary/hourly staff.
The Site Manager represents the university as primary liaison to the partner schools and their communities implementing GEAR UP goals and objectives while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, university, and grant regulations.
Duties include but are not limited to: provide direct services to students; planning, preparation and leadership participation of group activities and workshops; coordinate and communicate with school administrators, teachers, staff, parents, students, and colleges, community members, organizations, and businesses; provide local leadership in program development and evaluation.
This position will provide support to key program components, including tutor training and supervision, career exploration, and post-secondary preparation.
This is a temporary, full-time position with a work location in Vancouver, WA.
Required Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience.
• Experience leading or directing the work of others.
• A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience.
• Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Additional Qualifications:
• Three (3) years of relevant full-time, professional experience working directly with middle/high school students, and/or experience working with students in higher education setting.
• Experience working with parents/adults in individual or group setting.
• Knowledge of community, educational and social service resources in the district's community.
• Demonstrated experience in promoting the success and achievement of students from diverse cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds.
• Ability to be self directed and demonstrate effective communication, team building, creative problem-solving, and conflict management skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel overnight and work a flexible schedule, including frequent nights and weekends.
• Proficiency in the use of computers and MS Office software programs Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Ability to travel overnight and in some occasions with supervisory responsibility of students.
