WSP USA Senior CADD Technician in Vancouver, Washington

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full Time Senior CADD Technician to lead CADD design and delivery for our Portland, OR office. The following locations will also be considered: Vancouver-WA . Be involved in projects with our Civil Engineering Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Under general supervision and guidance from design engineers, provides technical CADD and BIM support to produce design drawing and specifications for projects in the Transportation Business Line. Generates accurate and concise design deliverables including plans and profiles, models, sections, details, specifications and material take offs. Works collaboratively with a diverse team of engineering and technical team members. Ensures that deliverables meet or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, accuracy, and functionality. Supervise and train junior staff.

Your Impact

  • Under general supervision, the individual will draft and revise detailed drawings using Openroads, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD software while working closely with engineers.

  • Provide support on redline mark-ups for project drawings, layouts, maps, and exhibits.

  • Train and mentor emerging level CADD staff under your direct supervision.

  • Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work.

  • Exhibit advanced knowledge of current drafting and design support practices.

  • Remain current in latest drafting and design support knowledge, techniques, and practices.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.

  • Minimum of 9 years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior drafting and design support experience.

  • Well-defined knowledge of drafting and design support principles, practices, process, methods and techniques.

  • Well-defined knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.

  • Familiar with Openroads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation with advanced knowledge in at least one software.

  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, and comply with company policies.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives and direct work of early-career CADD Technicians.

  • Analytical mindset to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.

  • Basic proficiency with office automation, software, technology, math principles, and spreadsheets, and tools.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Associate’s degree in closely related discipline is preferred.

  • CADD certification.

  • Highly familiar with OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and Civil 3D.

  • Prior supervisory role.

  • Familiarity with Oregon/Washington State and Local agency CADD standards.

  • Knowledge of executing Quality control procedures using BlueBeam Revu tools.

Compensation:

Expected Salary: $36.30/hr - $52.89/hr

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
