Applications and Technical Services Engineer
SUMMARY
Responsible for managing multiple technical aspects of assigned customer accounts. Act as company liaison to SEH customers and as the technical interface on silicon wafer applications, product specifications, testing methodology, and industry innovations. Customers will include world semiconductor leaders in the design and fabrication of advanced memory and logic, advanced analog, mixed-signal, power management, RF, MEMS sensors and other devices.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Acquire and maintain a high degree of knowledge of silicon processing and related defects; fully understand production and quality control aspects of silicon production.
• Coordinate engineering development samples and new part qualifications.
• Coordinate SEH resources in the US and at overseas sites.
• Educate customers on the benefits of using SEH products and provided on-going support to the customer base.
• Coordinate technical services between management, production, and sales departments and the customer regarding newly developed techniques or practices in processing company products.
• Develop and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations targeted to engineers and engineering management of existing and prospective customers.
• Assist in preparation of specific roadmap support plans for the future needs of customers and help develop technical marketing documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals for future business.
• Assist investigation of customer complaints and concerns regarding quality and performance of SEH products.
• Assist in assessment of risk to customer for process changes and process control excursions
• Assist in statistical analysis and presentation of SPC data to customers
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, or similar fields
• Able to work in high intensity and demanding environment with strong commitment to customer service.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Familiar with Material Characterization (SEM, SIMS, GOI, XRT, C-V, SRP, TEM, and others)
• Ability to travel inside USA and internationally.
• Familiar with silicon wafer processing.
• Knowledge of statistical methods
PREFERED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
• Master’s degree would be preferred
• Prior semiconductor physics/ solid state electronics experience.
• Prior experience working in a fab (diffusion, thin films, photolithography, etc.)
• Prior experience with silicon wafer procurement (specifications, incoming quality, metrology, evaluations, etc.)
• Semiconductor fab processing knowledge.
• Semiconductor device knowledge and market knowledge is preferred, including DRAM, NAND, Logic, MEMS, Power and Discrete, RF, and MEMS.
• Second language proficiency - Chinese or Japanese language skills.
• Advanced statistical techniques
• Knowledge of non-silicon semiconductors (SiC, GaN, others )
