Position Summary: The Controls & Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and documenting manufacturing processes and control systems to meet customer requirements and enhance production efficiency. This role involves working closely with manufacturing and technical teams to ensure that processes are not only efficient and cost-effective but also robust, reliable, and fully automated where applicable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Process & Controls Optimization: Collaborate with manufacturing and technical teams to optimize control systems and processes, ensuring quality, efficiency, and productivity.

Automation & Control Systems: Design, implement, and maintain control systems for automated manufacturing processes, including PLC programming, HMI development, and integration of new technology.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Develop, document, and maintain clear and concise SOPs for key processes and control systems to ensure consistent and efficient operation.

Preventative Maintenance: Work with facilities personnel and equipment suppliers to establish and maintain preventative maintenance programs for new and existing control systems and equipment.

Innovative Problem Solving: Observe processes, identify issues, and develop innovative solutions to enhance system reliability and performance.

Performance Analysis: Develop and analyze key performance metrics to measure system and process efficiency, using data-driven approaches to recommend and implement improvements.

Equipment Upgrades: Make formal recommendations with ROI analysis for equipment upgrades and changes, particularly focusing on automation and control system enhancements.

Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions: Lead root cause analysis for process and control system failures, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Collaboration & Team Support: Assist other team members in meeting plant and company objectives, promoting a work environment that is safe, ethical, and team-oriented.

Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives through lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.

Skills and Qualifications:

1.

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

2.

Experience in a Manufacturing Environment with a strong focus on control systems and automation.

3.

PLC Programming & Control Systems Design experience, including developing and troubleshooting automated systems.

4.

Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma experience, with a proven track record of implementing process improvements.

5.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills, with a strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting and optimizing control systems.

6.

Strong Communication Skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization, from shop floor operators to upper management.

7.

Technical Documentation Skills to create and maintain detailed SOPs, manuals, and training materials for control systems and processes.

8.

Project Management Skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints.

9.

Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, providing support and leadership as needed

Pay Details: $110,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year
